I am an artist, an educator, and creative. I specialize in vibrant acrylic paintings, charcoal drawings, and custom shoes. With a BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of North Texas and over a decade of experience as a high school art teacher in Texas, I've immersed myself in the world of artistic expression. While my journey has been rooted in the traditional, my influences extend far beyond.

My art originated from an exploration of pattern and ornamentation and matured to reveal as iconic symbolism stemming from personal experiences and memoirs. The use of pattern iconography, and cultural elements create a portrait of each musing in an indirect manner. I have pursued my own stylistic approach in this work that contrasts traditional fine art realism and portraiture practices.

I find myself captivated by the art of adornment in all its forms: whether it's in the form of self-expression through tattoos, fashion, beauty, or the careful curation of personal spaces. Tattoos, in particular, have a profound impact on my creativity, inspiring me with their deep ties in traditions and self-expression.

One of the most compelling (subjects/ideas/concepts/aspects of art/explorations/inspirations), for me, are the collections people choose (to keep). Whether it's a gallery of tattoos, a trove of art pieces, a shelf filled with figurines, decor, toys, or an array of vintage treasures, the personal significance and history behind these collections ignite my creative spark. Street art, textile patterns, and nostalgia all play their part in shaping my artistic vision.

My art is a fusion of these inspirations. It's an exploration of the unconventional and a celebration of  unique individuals portrayed through the lens of what they keep and value.
